Keeping Track of Road Games

As a professional athlete you are taxed on income earned in states in which you perform services. Your team will withhold state tax on this income and that will be reflected on your year-end tax documents.

If you were injured during a road trip and did not play in one or several road games, you do not have to have any state tax withheld for those games. Many times your team will still withhold state tax on those games from your paycheck even though you did not earn any income in that state. So be sure to keep track of all road games where you didn’t play because of an injury and we will claim a refund for those taxes.
