Want to know the status of your refund? If you e-filed you may receive refund information within 72 hours after the IRS has acknowledged the receipt of your tax return.
By logging on to the government’s web site at www.irs.gov selecting “where is my refund?” from the main menu, or by calling 1-800-829-1954 the IRS will provide you with the status of your refund.
In order to recieve your refund status you must be able to provide your social security number, filing status and the exact amount of your refund.
