A Comprehensive Evaluation and Examination of State Tax Issues on Professional Athletes

One of the more complex issues with the taxation of professional athletes involves states taxing athletes for income earned in each state that they play. In my article, “When is your CPA as important as your ERA?,” published in this spring’s edition of the Marquette Sports Law Review, I take a comprehensive look at this topic from both the states’ and the athletes’ perspectives.
